STOW ON THE WOLD COMMUNITY LAND TRUST
Helping Stow Thrive for Generations to Come
History
Our History
The Stow-on-the-Wold Community Land Trust was established in 2017 in response to the growing shortage of affordable housing for local people in Stow-on-the-Wold. The Trust was founded by local residents, including co-founders Ben Eddolls and Peter Minty, who recognised that rising house prices were making it increasingly difficult for local families, key workers and younger generations to remain in the town.
The Trust was created as a not-for-profit Community Benefit Society. This structure ensures that any homes or property acquired by the Trust are held for the long-term benefit of the community and remain genuinely affordable for future generations.
Since its formation, the Trust has worked with local residents, Stow Town Council, Cotswold District Council and a developer to identify opportunities for affordable housing that meets local needs.
Today, the Trust continues its work towards delivering its first affordable housing development while building community support and partnerships across the area.
